Default Truck humming when accelerating/coasting/decelerating

I started to notice a humming noise when driving recently. It does not sound like a tire hum, but I cannot pin point the location of it. It does it when I get to about 35 and gets slightly louder as I go faster, and slighty quieter when I go slower...I did a little research and am thinking it may be the hubs? The truck is a supercrew 4x4 with 35000 miles...any suggestions?

Its the 4th so the quickest I can probably get it to the stealership, I mean dealership is Monday....

if you think it's a hub, put it in 4x4 and take a drive, if it goes away, could be a 4x4 issue...a humming.....would a tire have a broken belt or something?

I will have to try the four wheel drive out tomorrow...The weird thing is I just had the tires rotated and an oil change and it started happening...

maybe a tire has a broken belt or a blister on the inside or something....that does sound kinda fishy, i doubt it has anything to do with the oil....

if it happend immediatly after the tire rotation I might suspect the tires, but it sounds more like a wheel bearing due to the increased noise with increased speed. but it could be the hub too. do what atom said to determine if the hub is an issue or not. if it goes away when 4x4 is engaged then I would lean twoards the hub. other wise check you tires, and also do you notice if it get better or worse going around a tight conner? if so that may be indicitive of a wheel bearing.

I havent had any issues with the rear end and I have an 05 with 56k on it. but it may be I'm just a lucky one. it just sounds very symptomatic of a wheel bearing. having worked on many fords. also I had my wheel bearing go around the same millage as you are now. and then the other one at 50k

FYI...the humming was caused by the bearings in the front...the dealership had it fixed in two days....thanks again for all the input guys
