When I bought my Lariat in '04 the interior was like no other truck I had ever seen. I bought it loaded out with moonroof, rear slider, audiophile. Truck had factory skid plates and a 3.73 LS. Wife liked the gauges and the front grille on the Lariat. The only difference was that the FX4 had some type of offroad shock's that the Lariat didn't have. Both truck's are winner's and I've been real pleased with mine.

Maybe check into a 60th aniverary 08 f-150. I know they look sharp and come with some extra options. They come black with the darkgray colored trim or you can get them dark grey with black trim. They look really nice inside and out. Interior is black cloth seats and they have a nice dash and gages. They are basically a trimmed out XLT. I am not sure about skid plates but you can get them with 20" wheels and a chrome package. From what I saw at the local dealership. There was about 4 of them there and they had supercab and supercrew with the 5.5 and 6.5 boxes and priced less than an fx4.

I went with the XLT but it was upgraded with everything the FX4 has except the skid plates. The only thing I'm not sure of is the shocks. I bought it used from a car lot but I took it over to a dealer on my test drive and asked them to pull the vehicle info on the vin. According to the dealer that looked up the info on my Vin I have the upgraded shocks that come with the upgraded tow package. I don't know if that means they are the same as the FX4 or not. Anyway my truck has done great. I use it as a daily driver, some towing, and light off roading. I've been happy with it.

Hey I like the look of the painted bumpers. Had painted bumpers on a 06 stx. I started noticing rock chips on the paint. When I traded it for a 4wd I made sure I had chrome bumpers. But the paint looks good and I really like the xlt.

Personally I am not into Chrome.. I had an FX4 Ranger. I know it has different shocks and Better Skid plates. OTher than that its the same truck mechanically. It MIGHT have a lower gear in the diffs.
