This exact thing happened to me a while back. Truck would just shut off randomly around idle.

The fix for me was cleaning the throttle body, then it never happened again.

well i have been sick in bed for 4 days.

today i was finally able to check codes.

got a PO191 Fuel Rail Pressure sensor

does this sound like it could be my problem and can that be intermittent?

maybe FPDM also?

That code could be from he FPDM.
Take a look at it (above the spare tire) for corrosion. If it appears to be corroded DO NOT remove or touch until you have a replacement (Amazon or local parts store).
The FPDM's frequently corrode and will fall apart when removed.

Make sure your new one comes with the rubber spacers that go between the FPDM and the frame
