Default Truck died, Fuel Pump?

Hi my truck died while driving yesterday and would not restart. I left it for about 10 minutes and then tried it again and it still would not start. Tried it one more time and it started I was able to drive it for about two minutes and it died again. Would not start again tired several times over a period of about 5 hours it would not start. Just as I was about to have it towed it started again I kept the rpm up and drove it home ( about 2 mins away) and left it in the driveway and it continued to run at an idle just fine. I am nervous to drive it anyway where until I figure out what is going on. Anyone else have a similar issue? Also now when it is at an idle or low rpm I have no power steering. If I rev the engine it will come back but as soon as I let off the gas no power steering again. The pump does sound like it has a bit of a whine to it. Any help would be great.
