Troyer Performance Efans probes
Were is the best place to install the probes to get the most accurate reading.
And if any one has any tips on calibrating the controllers with the fans please feel free to step in thanks!

I don't know about troyer, but depending on the manufacture some will say lower hose some say upper hose. I know diesels have a port in the water pump.I'm going to use the upper hose by the rad on mine since that's the temp of the fluid after it's been through the rad

Backwards. Upper hose is the hot fluid coming from the motor. Lower hose is cooled fluid (post rad) heading back to the engine.

So place the probe near the lower hose is your recommendation? Additionally does anyone know what the best (or Proper) temperature the engine should be? I have an edge programmer that shows me the temp and the fans kick in at about 188 but sitting at a drive through it will get up to a little over 200.

I've been running the troyer e fans for a long time now with the probes between the fans like the instructions show and had no issues.
And your coolant going a little above 200 Is normal. Stock thermostat opens at 190

You guys have to remember you are not getting an actual coolant temp reading. You are getting a cylinder head temp reading. Our trucks are not equipped with a coolant temp sensor. And yes the heads are always warmer than the coolant.

Do yourself a favor and scrap the probes that go in the radiator and get the tube that goes in the upper hose and you can get actual sensors that screw into the tube and plug into the controller. I think there might be a pic of it in my galleries if not do a search on here and there are a bunch of write ups on here about it. You can get everything you need thru summit racing. Ive read about a bunch of problem with the probes that go in the radiator fins not staying tight and causing leaks.
