Troyer Dual 16" Electric Fan
#4
I plan on doing the efan setup myself, but i was going to buy the controller from troyer and the efans off ebay, found some for about $40 a piece with lifetime warranties, and the $50 troyer controller. So im looking at about $130 for the setup vs the $450-$500 troyer.
But if you keep your eye out sometimes you'll find a used troyer setup.

Be sure any e-fan setup uses a fan shroud, or they are useless. Simply using those cheap tie straps through the radiator/condensor to hold one or two efans against the radiator is going to mess up the fins to core tubes as well.
If you're going the e-fan setup, do it right. There are many posts on this subject, including Troyer. Have a go at the search function.

I have the setup as well. It has been good to me. The ONLY thing I will be changing in the future is the location of the high and low temp leads that currently go in between the radiator fins. I plan on routing them directly into the cooling system.

The only negative I have heard of is members who have had controller issues. But I believe there is 1 controller per fan (if you buy the kit) so if one goes theoretically you have a backup. Some good info in the following link, including the high/low temperature sensors installed in the upper radiator hose from another member. Read the whole thing. To the op; stay away from doing a jalony job. Do your fans quality or don't do it at all. Here is the link;

I did a conversion using the new Motorcraft e-fans featured on the 2010 and up F-150. Cost about the same as the Troyer setup. He's not overpriced but yes he is making money. Nobody works for free.

Careful with those Fleabay fans. They may be cheap but are often amperage ***** and will do more harm then good including burning up a controller due to the outrages drawl. You get what you pay for. And you forget getting any tech support or warranty on the controllers from Troyer if you go this route. Something to think about.

Low amp draw double ball bearing and have a shroud, yes there only 15", but all of the concerns you have expressed are covered and there is an extremley long write up in the description.
IMHO, I would have no issue using them on my vehicle. But i do agree there are some questionalble ones being sold as well.
