I am predjudiced against Quaker Sludge.. I am sure they have waaayy increased quality, but I still will not use it. The same with Pennzoil. Both oils known to sludge up. I understand that the synthetics will not unless totally abused. I will stick to the Mobil 1.

The synthetic Q? That's odd. Have you also tried Mobil 1 in the same car? Did you compare the same seasons with the two oils? I assumed that this oil would be good because they obviously are trying to beat Mobil 1, and also Ferrari recommends it. If you have seen how things go at a Ferrari plant then you know how ridiculous their quality control is. It's supposed to add horsepower, which must mean lower friction. I guess it is possible to lower friction and not provide other factors very well though. Note taken.

Oil??
First off, let me say that I love this site. A bunch of intellingent, great guys and ladies with opinions and facts well put. I want to put my two cents worth in again about oil. I've used Valvoline conventional for 35+ years and won't switch. I'm sure the synthetics are even better but here's the situation. I have always driven 35k or more a year. I change every 5k which means I can't go 2 months between changes. I've had several trucks for 200k miles and never had an engine problem. I have to contribute that to maintenance and an oil that's doing it's job. My 85 F150 with the 300 6 banger had 120k on it when I replaced the rocker arm cover gasket. The rockers and springs were as clean as the day I bought it. I figure if I can get that kind of mileage out of my vehicles with Valvoline conventional it just doesn't pay to go to anybodies synthetic. My 06 with 62k on it has been flawless with no engine noise at all. I still cringe at using 5-20 in this Florida heat but that's what Ford says to use. Don't get me wrong. I'd probably switch to a synthetic if I drove normal miles but the added cost in my case wouldn't bring a payback.
To solve the do it yourself issues, I installed a remote oil filter kit and a quick drain plug. Now the filter is a snap to get off and if it wasn't for my tinkering when I change oil I could do it in less that 10 minutes without getting a drop on the garage floor.
