Default Trouble converting MM and Inches (Another How big can i go on stock rims? question)

Beating a dead horse right now i know as this question has been asked a million times but I am still not getting it...i cant compute the mm to inches.

I have a 2005 F150 4x4, with a 2.5 level kit on the front. I want to keep my stock rims.

How big of tire can I go in mm? If I read correctly, i believe someone said a 285/70/17. If i wanted to go smaller, i would just subtract from the 285 and down in size, but keep the 70/17, right?

How big of a tire can i go in inches? ??/??.?/?? Aain, i think i read 33 without rubbing. How would i go smaller from the larger size 33 in the ??.?/?? categorie?

Thanks for your help and sorry for the redundant question. I will post pre-and post-op pics once it's all complete in the next couple of months.

Your stock rims will limit you on the tire width. Check the tire manufacturers website for the minimum sizes of rim width. I like the BFGs, http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/specs...t-a-ko/44.html . My tires are 33.4 inches tall (according to BFG) I have a 2.5 inch leveling kit and they rub at full turn in reverse but "it ain't custom if it ain't rubbing"

You can go up to a 315x70x17 with some rubbing on the stock wheels, A 295x70x17 or 305x70x17 which are close to 34 inch tires would maybe be the max without rubbing on the stock wheels.

These are 315x70x17 BFG AT's on 17x8 wheels with no rubbing.
