Default Transmission Swap

Does anyone know the specific differences between the new 6-speed auto tranny and the old 4-speed? Once I get around 150k-200k miles I'd like to do a swap, does this seem feasible? I'd love to put the 6.2 in also, but have to wait for it to come out first lol.

I will be watching this as I wanted to put the 6speed in when I heard it was coming out (blocks didnt change so I'm hoping the tranny casing didnt, just the internals?). As far as the 6.2 goes, ths is all I have to say...

I had been considering a swap myself. I haven't gotten around to researching it though. I'd be the ECU wouldn't be compatible?

Thats my first point to check on really (but don't know who to ask, dealers no ). If the ECU/PCM cant be swapped into our trucks, thats gonna make this swap a headache IMO.

I'd guess that you'd have to have the ECU from the donor truck to make it work, or send it out and get it reprogrammed. I'd love to have the new tranny to help with fuel mileage, its bullcrap that Toyota can have 4.30 gears and still 17-18 mpg where I have 4.10's and barely get 15; not to mention being at 2000rpm at 60mph...
