Transmission swap
Can the transmission from an 08 xlt be swapped into my 2004 fx4 straight up? Reason I'm asking is because of the center console gear shift as opposed to on the wheel. Searched around but can't find the exact answer I'm looking for. Thanks in advance

No matter where the shifter is located, both have a shift cable that attaches to the shift linkage on the transmission. So if you have a column shifter you would just attach your stock shift cable that runs to your tranny to the replacement tranny. The transmissions are identical.
