Transmission slamming/slipping
Well I've had this pickup (2008 F150 5.4L XLT with 80k miles) for about 300 miles, and I'm disappointed with the transmission. Im not sure if its just mine, or the F-150's in general. The tranny acts up when going about 30-35 mph around the loop on-ramp onto a highway or interstate and you give it some extra gas as you merge onto the highway (Hope thats not confusing). It either clunks down to the next gear, or revs up like its in neutral then slams into the lower gear. Ive never noticed it shifting goofy any other time. Im hoping its nothing serious, what do ya'll think?

Honestly I think what your saying is normal. Around 30-40mph or 2100 rpm if you accelerate a little more especially noticed on a hill it hesitates then grabs the gear. I have never drove one that didnt do it but something to help is a tranny filter change and fluid change and add in a qt of lucas oil tranny stabilizer.
