This is what mine turned out to be. Spark plugs and both cats blocked. Transmission stopped its nonsense after the spark plug change and the dealer confirmed blocked cats. Thanks for the advice. Getting the cats changed at the local muffler shop.

Thanks everyone for the tips and suggestions. I tried just about all of the low cost suggestions - changed my K&N, added the Dr. Tranny's, and even started using mid grade gas. The truck certainly runs smoother, but the shudder is still there. I think my next step is new plugs and getting the cats checked. Anyone have any idea what it generally costs to get the plugs replaced? I talked to my regular mechanic and he said he wouldn't even give it a shot - big problems with the plugs breaking off. He said the dealer is probably the best bet. Not sure about that advice.....

Thumbs down your screwed

My truck did the shuddering one day out of the blue so we took it to the shop and the transmission was toast at 130,000 miles. I got new guts for my transmission even though it took them 2 weeks to do it, all i got to keep out of my old transmission was the outer shell. It rang up to be $1950.

Sounds like the same problem I have had on a few of my Tritans, the coil packs are bad for this. My 2002 mustang GT did this but would run a little rough at idle and my 2007 F150 would only do it under load in gear. My brother had his 2003 F150 do the same as well. I took my stang in to have it hooked up and diagnosed at a Ford dealership in town for $50 and had them tell me which cylinders weren't firing. If you have a good programmer it should do the same. I replaced #3 and #8 and it has run fine since, same thing with my truck but it was #6. Still a lot easier than doing plugs and worth a shot.

If i floor it it turns into a raped ape pulls hard no tranni slip at all. Called my local service writer that a deal with and he told me probably throttle body. Put a new throttle body in today same problem it didnt go away. This problem only happens at 1100 rpm at that low speed. watched the Tach it doesnt change stays the same.
I have an 06 thats doing the same thing that you described, it hard for me to believe some of these post thats it the plugs , cop's or engine. It only does it in the OD MODE take it out and run the same RPM and it does not do it I have two friends one has an 04 one has an 05 and mine is an 06 and the all have the same problem

These videos should help figure out the problem and give you a little knowledge along the way.

A few weeks ago i was worried that the shutter/bucking I was experiencing with my 2007 screw was tranny related. You said '" its not the tranny, probably plugs. You were right. Bad plugs. 500$ and 4 broken plugs later. she's runnin beautiful. Thanks.
