I was cruising 60 mph on the highway going down a hill with no throttle , and my trans shifted in and out of od a couple of times today. This is the first Time it has done this. 2006 fx4 with the 5.4 3v with 60,000 on the odometer. I have only owned this truck for 3 months and baby it. The trans shifts fine usually. Does anyone have any ideas? I have the ford warranty and was going to call the dealer up on monday..

Does it keep doing it? Did you put larger tires on it?

It has the factory wheels and tires in it.

Did it shift fully out of 4th or was it just the tc locking and unlocking? Also has the trans been serviced, at 60k it is long overdue.

It felt like it shifted down out of od then back in. It did it twice. I have never had the trans serviced. I've only had the truck for three months and there are no service records..
