transmission service question
About to tackle a transmission fluid change and filter change on a 2006 HD w/88k mi. Looked under to see just what I was working with and I see my torque converter has a drain plug. At first I was happy bc it meant I didn't have to try the shady, four quart increment pump out process with the cooler return line. But i remember reading where they got rid of the drain plugs around 2001?
Wondering if anyone knows for sure and if I'm possibly working on a rebuilt, old transmission. (I've only had this truck three months).

Pretty sure that the 04-08s with the 4R75E did not have a torque converter drain plug. The housing has the plug (rubber), but the converter itself does not. No harm in checking though, just to be sure. My 08 didn't have one.

Ahhh.... I see. Yup. No plug behind the rubber. So weird. My 2000 4.6 was a lot easier to work on. Thanks for the reply... This forum has helped me a lot getting this thing back in good shape.
