Default Transmission problems

I have a 2004 f150 with a 5.4L. The transmission messed up on me a few days ago. I put it in reverse and it went maybe a yard then revved up then would go another yard. After that happening for 45 min it finally fully in gauged and drove 5 miles home. Haven't touched it till tonight. The transmission was rebuilt 20,000 miles ago but is out of the year warranty. I pulled the pan and found shavings. I was under the impression that the shift solenoids were failing. Any suggestions or advice would be grateful. Or based on pictures and I just flat out screwed looking at a rebuild ? Also it is the 4R75E transmission.

How far out of the warranty? I would bring it back, a rebuild should last more than 1 year or 20,000 miles.

Poor rebuild for sure! I'd still take it back, or show the pictures of what was found to see what they will do.

However in this case, they may not do anything since you opened it up.
