Transmission problem
I have a 2005 F150 XLT 4x4 5.4
Transmission statred acting funny got codes p0720 and p2106. I swapped out the output shaft speed sensor and decided to drop the pan and change the filter while underneath.
Put it back together and it ran perfect better then the day I bought it. After about 10 miles of driving I lost all forward gears. Only have reverse. BH BHOnce again getting the same codes p0720 and p2106.
When I dropped the pan there was very little metal on the magnet. The fluid was brownish but no burnt smell and like I said very little metal on the magnet. By the way the yellow stopper was still in the pan.
I decided to drop the pan again to see if I messes something up but all looked good. No metal on the magnet at all.
Everything I read and everyone I talk to says the forward clutch is shot. I find that strange because there's no metal in the pan.
If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate your replies. Thanks

One more thing to add the codes only came up one time since the transmission failed. After restarting the truck they've been gone every time. Only seen them once after about 10 starts.

Actually the clutches are a pressed cardboard, not "quite" paper. Makes you wonder why they last as long as they do. I do agree with getting a second opinion
