Default Transmission Pan Gasket Leak

2006 F-150 FX4, 96,000 miles. Was changing my oil on Sunday and noticed a stain all around the pan on my transmission, saw a little drop of red transmission fluid dripping in the driveway too. I just had the truck up to the dealership about two months ago and had a transmission flush done, so I'm thinking they screwed up the pan gasket. Paid $600 for the service (along with other fluid swaps, fuel induction service, etc, etc). I'm thinking this is a dealership issue. They should cover the costs correct? I've only gone about 3,000 miles and the transmission is leaking already....I checked the level (plenty of fluid), fluid is still good (very red, not dirty). I'm hoping the dealership will replace the gasket and refill it. Anyone had an issue similar to this? Thanks in advance.

They *should*, but if they feel like accepting fault... if they don't, at least it's cheap and easy. Just wear clothes you can throw out in case you get covered in fluid.

If they used a machine to do a flush they wouldn't have touched the pan, which most dealers so, now if they did a pan drop/filter thays different

Yes, dealer issue. Still have a copy of the service receipt? I'd assume there is some sort of warranty on parts/labor for the service provided. Sounds like a gasket issue, but cannot be sure over the internet without seeing first hand where the leak is originating from.

Still have the receipt and will be dropping the truck off tomorrow. This particular dealership has been very reasonable with me in the past so I anticipate they will cover it. Will keep everyone updated.\

There is a stain all the way around the perimeter of the pan. I was parked on a slight incline so I noticed the transmission fluid dripping from the back of the pan. Hoping it will be resolved quickly.

Maybe the mechanic did not do a final tightening sequence of the transmission pan bolts when he/she assembloed the pan back to the transmission.

That could be, hopefully it will be that simple and I'll be on my merry way...

If they changed the filter (would be on your receipt), they removed the pan. Likely overtorqued the bolts or didn't sequence properly. Either way, they should fix it.

Since they have to probably replace the gasket anyhow, consider replacing the pan with a new Dorman pan w/ drain plug. Makes fluid replacements easy.

I'll make sure to suggest that when I drop the truck off. Had to keep it for the holiday weekend. Will check in with results when I get it back.
