My transmission temp got up to 180 yesterday I normally see 150-160 it's been hot here lately should I be concerned truck only has 45000 miles on it I was in traffic also if that's a factor I'm going to have the fluid changed next Friday when I get paid

On a hot day, in traffic, where the torque converter can't lock up and there is little airflow, 180F is completely fine. Just for reference, the 6 speed has a thermostat that opens at 175 and its normal running temp is 190-195. Different from yours, but hitting 180 is no issue at all.

Thanks just hadn't seen it get that high yet guess as long as it doesn't get into the 200 region I won't worry about it
