Default Transmission Discovery

Went under the truck to do an oil change today and found this plug missing. Should this be lubricated? If so, there is no cover on the front and any fluid would pour out. You can see from the one pic the holes have no bolts in them towards the front.

That's just a rubber access plug you're missing. Your torque converter & flywheel is what you see. Your toque converter might have a drain in it, to access the drain you need to remove the plug. The oil you see is more than likely from the rear main seal, very common.

Thank you! To follow up with another stupid question, does that flywheel ever need to be lubricated?

I would replace the protective rubber plug when you get a chance...it will keep road salt and grime out of there.

You need to replace the missing plug AND the cover plate, to keep crap out of the T/C housing.

Anyone know those part numbers for the inspection plug and cover off the top of their heads?
