Well, it's a heck of alot better tranny than the original AOD tranny's ever were. They are considered to be a good trans. I have rebuilt 2 aod's myself and they are both upgraded and running great. One is in my 66 mustang and I love it, but wish I would have gone ahead and used a 4r70 but it requires a controller to adjust the shifts.

ford never really made a good trans in the newer trucks the 4r100 could sure take an *** beating, but never an option in the half tons except for the lightning.

You know, when you look up 4R75E's on the internet you find all the same basic parts failing in these transmissions-why the hell won't Ford just upgrade 'em and be done with it? Or should everybody just bank on buying a Toyota whatever, 'cause they'll be the only company left with a complete monopoly on the car/truck market?

My 1999 GMC tranny went at 70k which I thought was crazy and cost me 3 grand to replace. That is one of the reasons I bought a Ford and it failed at 32k. Dodge sucks...whats left?

Japanese.. It stinks but American car companies just don't care about quality. They are all about style and building a good looking car that runs like crap. Its sad but true.

the decision on giving a rental or loaner is up to the dealership, threaten to buy from somewhere else next time and see if they find a way to get you a loaner. tranny flushes are recomended every 30k so u guys with failing trannys might want to do that if u arent already, just some ideas

This worries the hell outta me. I am at 66K with mine and have never had it flushed. Its got a tuner on it and I tow a toy rig with it from time to time. No problems yet. Guess I better get it flushed........ Maybe I'm just lucky.
