Transmission bearings shot, only 23,000miles.
I have to say I'm very disappointed that the transmission in my truck is being overhauled after only 23,000 miles. I wish I could say I feel comfortable having the dealer rebuild it, but based on my experience working for dealers, I'm expecting the worst. I can't believe Ford won't give you a loaner or rental car while your vehicle is down for a week and a half. Why don't they just install a rebuilt unit it and be done with it in a day? Has anybody else lost a trans with such low miles?

Do you tow, haul, race, burnouts, offroad, etc? Do you have a tuner? Do you have a transmission cooler? I am only ask about these things for possible leads as to why you might prematurely wear out transmission components.

I have no aftermarket engine products, I don't tow or haul heavy things on a regular basis. I guess I got the trans built on a Friday near quitting time The Brown-Daub Ford dealer said the output shaft bushings cracked and failed which in turn took out the rear output shaft bearings. I hope Ford warranty includes a trans cooler flush and filter replacement?

To throw fuel on the fire, I'm driving a Chevy cobalt around, that has all kinds of electrical problems, lights going on, "ELECTRIC STEERING?!!" stops working while I'm driving, trans just stops shifting, etc. Glad my tax money is bailing out these @#$%ers!
