Trans jerking at 50-60 mph
#23
I installed accel coils and new motocraft plugs over the weekend. Jerking between 3rd and OD at low rpm appears gone at least based on my driving today. I followed the TSB and did all of the work cold. Used SeaFoam deep creep and only used air impact on one plug. Interesting was that it did not break but one other plug that I manually broke free did break. OF course it was passenger side against the firewall. Lisle tool worked great. Anyone in Los Angeles area who wants to borrow it can hit me up.

Misfire is back and now it is blowing the code and seriously misfiring to the point you do not want to keep driving under that load (up hill at speed). Cyl 5 says my hypertech tuner. Probably reliable but I will take it in. I did not pull the plug but it was tight and rechecked connection for new coil. Water seal on harness is a little loose and jamming up the connection but it is locking. I do not think that is it. Hopefully it is an injector issue and not low compression. 5 is easier to get to but that is not much consolation.

I've changed my plugs 4 times since owning the truck (now at 162,xxx) and the shudder always comes back. Plus the trans makes a huge clang at times in traffic shifting. Sounds as if its running dry and hits so hard that I feel as if the dash could fall off into my lap. It's quite annoying.
