Trans jerking at 50-60 mph
2005 F-150 5.4L
Jerks at lower speed also going up hills under light accel. Trans jerks like the TQ is unlocking and locking rapidly does it mainly at 50-70 with engine under light load...heavy load then the trans downshifts. Did this once before at 50k miles took to Ford dealership they replaced the plugs... now at 71K its been doing it again for the last couple of months. No error codes.
Any ideas?
BTW a kinda shady trans guy said (without driving)yep its the transmission I'll do it for $1500 or get you a Jasper and put it in for $2800
Any help/opinions appreciated!

I'm experiencing the same thing. Brought it to the mechanic who had rebuilt the trans for me a little while ago and he told me to replace the coils and plugs. Said he has seen the coils go bad causing misfires and the trucks not throw any codes

Well, I'll chime in that it was something different for me. I had the "rumble strip" feel at around 50 mph at small incline under slight load/ acceration. I got it without fail every day at the same spot on the freeway onramp after work. For me it was the torque converter shudder. Read tons about it and the lubegard product "Dr. Tranny shudder fix". Put 2 tubes of it in over a month ago and have not had a shudder since. Best $12 I ever spent.
