They gave you the wrong fluid, you put it in your truck. That is really nice of them to pay for the flush.

Flushes are just fine, I have done it on all my vehicles. Never a problem. Replace all that old fluid! Not just 1/3 of it.

Default Careful on adding fluid

My 06 with factory trans cooler only took 4 qts with pan dropped/filter replaced. I'd start there and see where it is on the dipstick. I added 5 qts and had to siphon 1 qt out as it was overfilled.

you don't want to flush old transmissions or you'll get debris in the pump and ruin the entire thing.

I respectfully disagree with this. My pump in my transmission is what "flushes" all my fluid out. Simply they remove the trans cooler line and the flow my old fluid out into a container via my pump inside my trans. Their machine does pump the new fluid into my system again via the trans cooler lines. No big deal.

Just think about it for one minute if your statement were true I would have shelled 4 transmissions in the last 10 years. All my vehicles I have had this done on and zero problems. Now in the grand scheme of things my lil tests are nothing, but if your statement were true nobody would ever have this done as you would destroy transmissions after a flush.

There is not any debris in my system that would be sent into my pump as remember it is my pump doing the flushing...

96 t-100 transmission flushed at 58k miles 70k, and 100k again at 130k miles. Shifts perfect. Family bought new so I know it was flushed at 30k miles as well.
06 f150 bought at 98k miles, had the transmission flushed because I had zero history on it. I am now at 120K miles and it shifts better now then it did then, not because of the flush but my edge
93 mazda protege, lil run around car I bought for 700 bucks. Trans shifted rough, again no service history. 120k miles. I had it flushed, It shifts beautifully now. I'm at 124k miles so not much of a test yet.

This is my opinion, as is your statement.

You don't want to back-flush a transmission. That's forcing the fluid the opposite way of it's intended flow in order to flush the transmission. From what i understand, it is the pressure used to force the fluid that messes things up more than simple crud being dislodged. That has ruined many types of transmissions, even though some can be safely back-flushed. I'm not sure with these, but why risk it. There are flushing methods that are perfectly safe with our transmissions though, in my opinion.

Not sure why you would ever back flush. The place I use simply unhooks the cooler line and uses the transmission pump to pump out the fluid. Their machine refills the transmission on the other side. No high pressures, just cycles out all the old fluid.

I have them then drop the pan and change the filter too.

My dealer didn't want to drop the pan/change the filter. Told me it wasn't needed when the flush was done-the flush would take care of everything. They wanted an extra $100 to drop the pan & change the filter. I said no thanks and changed my own fluid/filter. I'm glad I did, as there was a lot of crap stuck to the pan magnet that wouldn't have got cleaned off with the trans flush.
