Default Trans dipstick is different from owner's manual...

I've noticed that my auto trans dipstick is different from the one that's pictured in my owner's manual. The diagram in the manual shows 2 hash-marked areas on the stick, one for cold and one for hot. My actual stick only has one hash-mark area, and it doesn't say anything. There's a "cold" dot at the bottom of the stick. I've always assumed that the fill level is correct if it is within the hash-marks when hot. That's what I've assumed. Would that be correct? Anybody else run across this?
Thanks

Default

The dot on the bottom is the do not drive mark. The transmission is considered full if when running, hot and on a level surface the fluid level is just below the top of the hash mark.
