mine is having the same issue, seems like it got worse when i put the 35's on the truck

most of the people i have talked to said the truck needs regeared and it wont be trying to switch in and out of overdrive as often.

I have an 07 fx4 with 114k miles. I've experienced two similar issues and fixed both. First were the plugs and cops. When accelerating I would get a thump...thump thump..thump type of thing going on. I just ordered a full set of accel coils and that turned out to be the 80% solution. Changed the plugs next and ran like a top!

The other issue I had was what felt like I was hitting a rumble strip on the side of a highway. It only lasts for half a second when lightly accelerating to maintain speed-usually up a slight grade. However it did not do it with overdrive turned off. I drove around for a couple of weeks with overdrive off and the problem fixed itself. I'm speculating that there was a buildup of burnt tranny fluid on the torque converter clutch causing it to slip a little. The fix for that would be a tranny flush but that was a year ago and mine never came back. Hope that helps.

Yes thanks. And thanks to all for the input. I'm thinking it's plugs more now. I did do a full tranny flush and the issue is still there. Gonna have to fork out because this is one job I'm not going to try myself.

If the issue remains after replacing plugs and cops, check the drive shaft U-joints. Does the truck have a lift? With a lift and 35's, you would be placing a different angle to the drive shafts, and this may be the reason for "jerky" shifts and "shudder". The stock drive shafts and their U-joints are designed to be as parallel as possible.

Also, what is the rear gearing ratio of your truck? 35's have a whole lot more in the way of rotational mass; this is going to play heavy on that transmission.

At the very least, a transmission cooler should be added if the truck did not come with an auxilery one (towing package option)

Thanks for the suggestions. The truck does have 35s but not a lift. Leveling kit. It does have trailer/tow package. I'm pretty sure at this point it's looking like plugs/cops but any suggestions are welcome. The more research I do, the more I'm getting the same diagnosis. Anyhow, no way am I going to tackle THAT job myself. Just going to bite the bullet and take it to a pro.
