Default Tranny shudder?

Hey guys , first time long time, ive reading threads for here for a while , always very helpfull and informative, just want clarify , my 2004 5.4 ltr 127 k miles, has the infamous shutter, at around 50 mph when i hit the gas, ive read it is possibly the plugs , not the tranny. Im not sure if i should bring to a tranny shop or mechanic, trying to avoid a fishing expedition. Any suggestions? Thanks! Edit Reply

When were the plugs changed last? I bet its your plugs. I have over 200k on my tranny and she still going strong. I pull a tandem axle 10k trailer mostly every day in the summer with it as I do landscaping. Had the same problem around 45-50 mph and thought it was the tranny but changed the plugs and bam it was gone. I'd change the plugs unless they have been done real recently. Just my 2 cents.

Yep, I had the same problem. Come 45 mph when i would give any gas it would shudder to no end. Changed 8 plugs and 8 COP's and that problem went away. My bet's on the plugs or COP's.
