Have you tried a fluid and filter change? If it was my truck I would drive it the bare minimum before you cause the entire transmission to implode. Is your fluid level fine? Is the color red or brown? Does it smell burnt?

Just dont go to Aamco.....heard horror stories about them. If you have a Certified Transmission, I highly suggest them.

Talked to a guy today at a shop near home and he sounded like he knew what he was talking about.. He said it was a spring in the valve body that eventually wears a hole in it and it looses pressure.. He is rebuilding it for 1200 and that is 1000 less than anyone else I can find and the others Didn't know what was going on. So here we go!

WOAH!!! You can get a rebuilt valve body, that takes no more than 20 minutes to swap your self for under $200.

This is the same conundrum I'm in. 305k on the original tranny (not 100% certain, but pretty sure it could be.) I could spend $120-200 on new wiring harnesses, solenoids, etc and put them in hopeing it fixes my problem, but I'm thinking it may be better to replace the whole thing.

Sorry to hijack.
