Default trailers and my f150

so I'm trying to get back into some racing and need to start looking for a trailer but had a few questions

am i going to have any issues towing with the 4.6?

should I consider a regear for 33's since I'll be towing?

should I be looking for a super light trailer?

I only ask because my k1500 with its baby 305 and 33's hated the hills hauling a car on a heavy trailer, ruined my throw out bearing too

auto trailer, no clue on how big or heavy not even sure if I want open or enclosed. I'll be hauling a miata or s2000 so its a fairly light car. My choice mostly depends on what the truck can haul

I'm going to assume you've got 3.55ls. It's not cost effective to regear for 33" tires. 4.6 should haul it alright, but if you had a 5.4 it would do much better. It'll probably be a bit sluggish.

You could put a tuner/programmer on it and that will help a little bit towing. Cai and Exhaust will help a little too.

She'll be a bit sluggish but other than that I would imagine it will do a passable job. A lightweight trailer and a little car shouldn't be that much of a strain. Try and keep all the weight off the trailer tounge if you can.

ive pulled a car hauler with a mustang and a explorer (to differnet times) with my 4.6 and 3.55ls, seemed to do fine to me even with the leveling kit, i rented the trailer from uhual and you had to have alot of tongue weight because the trailer has have the car pulled all the way up on it....

So I shouldn't consider regearing? Seems cheaper than replacing a trans
