Where can I get an inexpensive trailer hitch for my 2004 f150?

Default Trailer hitch

I am getting mine at U-Haul. I have a 2009 Ford F150 (Long Bed) 2WD. They said it would be close to $300 for the hitch and installation.

What he said: ebay.

If you do not get in a hurry and do something foolish, you can get by for about half the U-Haul price. This includes installation (yourself) and the plug and play "T" wiring plug. Installation, including the wiring "T" plug in device is about as easy as anything you will ever attempt on your truck, mechanically speaking.

Mine did not come from the factory with a hitch. I bought and installed it myself. I also installed an aftermarket transmission cooler - the biggest one I could find. All of it did not cost me the U-Haul price of $300 (quoted earlier). Of course, I got a little grease on my hands, burned a few calories and sweated a little, but I felt good about the results and the savings.

I got mine from JC Whitney, it is a Curt and I got it on sale for about $120. The neat thing about it was it came with "fish wires" that pulled your bolts through, no drilling, no welding and with a little umph I got it installed. Always that last bolt has to be stubborn. They also threw in a locking hitch pin and a rubber dust cap for when you aren't towing.

I got my wiring harness and controller and adapters from R & P Carriages on Ebay. It was suggested by someone on this site and they were very helpful and fair.
