Default trail FX rain guards

Last Saturday I had a set of the Trail FX rain guards installed on my 08 F-150. With in 4 hours the tape started to loosen up and the guards started pooping up on the ends. I then looked and saw the rain guards have a little tab that looks to go under the plastic that covers the mirror mount. but the place that put them on did not put the tabs under it.

I called the place that installed them and told them they are starting to come off and that they didn't put the tabs under the plastic cover or even ligh them up right. The guy told me that if they where put under the plastic they would not fit right. I did not drive my truck since I called and this morning I went out to the truck and I gave the one on the right front side a little tug and it came off in my hand.

The tape isn't even real sticky.

anyone have any experience with the trail FX rain guards?
Is what the installer giving me a load of B.S.?

anyone got some pictures of how they should be installed?

I have never even heard of TrailFX. I always go with AVS.

There's no question...take it back and tell them to fix it. If you paid for them to install the rain guards it's their job to do it right.

I could have put them on very easy, it isn't rocket science, I personally like to pay people to do things for me,
just Incas something happens like this, now comes the fun part seeing what the installer is going to do about it. Every place has issues from time to time the real test is how the company handles the mistake.

i actually prefer the in-channel ones, they fit much more snug and I think they look better, but I agree with the guys, on the AVS ones. I got mine from the local autozone store.

I got the TrailFX ones and after a few months, did the same. I just bought some 3m double sided tape and fixed them. So far been fine.

I have a TrailFX bed liner, came with my truck from the dealership. That was one thing I promised I would change, but I'm working on my CAI, tuner, and exhaust first. I'm liking the look of RhinoLiner (another spray on)

I just got back from the shop that i bought them from and installed them for me.

They took off the trailFX and I don't see any damage to the paint yet,
They are ordering me a set of the in channel vents and are putting them on when I have the cap installed,

The guy didn't seam to be overly happy with me when I picked up the truck, but this is business.
