Default TPMS sensors

i have an 08 f150 and the rims that came with the truck were pretty much work truck rims so i bought a set of XLT rims and put them on,but the old rims had the tire pressure monitoring system on them and ford wants to charge me 520$ to switch them over,so my question is...does anyone know how or if you can turn off the TPMs light on the gauge cluster?

I made a wheel switch on my 2008.
If the wheels you got were from a ford XLT truck, check to see if the wheels still have the tpms bands on them. If not, Buy some new bands, open your stock set and get your sensors. Install them on the new bands that are on the xlt wheels.
This could be done at any tire shop for a heck of a lot cheaper.

Yea, I know. Also, some garages have the electronics to reprogram tpms, etc..
The replacement bands could be found on ebay or other sites. They are just really long hose clamps with saddles for the sensors.
Good luck with everything, and post some pics.

Just unscrew the little bulb behind the cluster....Or, try and track down the fuse, odds are, the fuse controls more than one function though.

I think the light is set up to where if you remove it it un completes the circut and doesnt work. Im gonna be takin mine out here soon to replace the lights with blue so im gonna get something to just put in place of the clear spot on the underside like a small square of plastic of somethin, havnt figured it out yet.
