Default 05' Screw idle issue?

Hey all i have a 05' Screw Lariat 4x4 with 130k. I'm having an issue. Bought the truck with 120k and dealer did tuneup, new brakes, & new tires about 5months ago. At times if you go to pass someone, or just romp on it from a stomp the truck will hesitate intermittently then smooth out and pull like a bat out of hell. Owner before me had an edge tuner in it, but left the cable that connects the tuner to the obdII plug. Cable is labeled "edge". I run regular gas for the time being. I was advised from a local mechanic to run high test and see if it runs better.

Per the mechanic: seems as if the previous owner tuned the truck to "something" but never set it back to stock when he traded in the vehicle.

Now i'm stuck with a semi-tuned truck? It does seem to run better on higher grade gas. I also changed the fuel filter. Truck has cold air intake kit, & recently installed flowmaster cat back exhaust system.

Local mechanic said to bring the truck to ford & have them "flash" the computer back to stock since this is "out" of his expertise. Really? How much does that cost?

The reason he mentioned this is because originally i wanted to see if he could diagnose the hesitation. When he plugs in his machine at the shop, it reads the truck is idling at "3300" rpms, but the tach is just under "1000" rpms's.

WTF now? Also the truck has been getting a P0307 code.

thanks all for your help/input.

much appreciated

Well with what you did with the intake and exhaust you need a tuner so it wont run lean. That could be part of the issue and also get the throttle body cleaned and mass air flow sensor taken out and cleaned well. That should help but a custom tune for your truck would be the best to help bring the best out with the intake and exhaust
