Default Towing with 35s

I have a 08 Lincoln Mark LT 5.4 4x4 screw with 3.73 gears I've got 35s that'll be going on the truck soon and we're tossing around the idea of a camper I believe stock my towing capacity is around 8500 lbs could I still go around there with the 35s or should I go less how much less if so

To my knowledge the tire size won't affect your towing capacity. Your rear diff will be working harder, and your engine will be working harder, but I don't see anything being an issue. Putting the 35's eats up some power, but not as much as everyone acts like they do. I just took my 35's off and put on a temporary setup until I save enough for my lift, wheels, and tires. I don't notice any performance gains on my 07 F150 with a 5.4L and 3.73 rear diff. You should be alright.

Yes, tire size will affect max towing.

Ford (and others) post a doc that states max towing capacity, based on options and add-ons. Those 35's add weight to the truck, so the difference between them and the original stock tires and rims would need to be deducted from the trucks total weight hauling capacity. May not be significant, depending on what trailer weight you will be hauling, but none the less, any add ons that have been added to a vehicle does affect its total towing capacity.

If 8500 is what your truck is rated at, don't forget that it includes the weight of the trailer, its cargo (clothes, camping material, bikes, and anything else you and the family bring along). It adds up quickly. Most good RV sales folks will tell you to stay under 800 to 1000 pounds the max towing weight of the vehicle to be used for such extra's that get brought along.

What he said........
If the budget allows, consider re-gearing to 4.56. I did mine a couple months ago and I really like it. I regularly haul an ATV and tow 3 more on a trailer in the mountains. It's a whole new truck with the gears.
