Default Towhook install

I took off my toe hooks a while ago to install a bull at and must have thrown them away. Anyhow I ordered part number 6L3Z 17A954 AA and cannot figure out how they are installed. I could have swore my old set actually slid inside the frame tubing on the front of the vehicle and fit perfectly inside the opening of the front bumper bottom plastic piece but these are too big to slide in. Can someone who has the bottom plastic piece post a pic of the tow hooks for me? Don't know if I have the wrong tow hooks or am looking at this install wrong.

My bad on the typos. This app kills me with the autocorrect.

They attach underneath the frame. The bracket with the 2 nuts goes inside the frame. Bolts go through the tow hook, into the holes in the frame, and into the nuts inside the frame channel.

That's where the confusion was. Thanks a ton.

Yes, my factory tow hooks was installed just like that above. When I installed my grille guard, it used the tow hooks mounting location. With longer bolts I was able to mount both the grille guard and the tow hooks.

To me it looks like your tow hooks are coming out of the slots in your bottom plastic piece of the bumper, is that right? I assumed those cutouts were for the tow hooks. From the looks of your pic your tow hooks come out of those inserts. Am I wrong?

Here is a pic of my install. They do not fit inside those inserts on my truck. Is this right?

I just answered my own question. Here is a pic of my truck when I used to have tow hooks installed and apparently the ones ford recommends are not the right ones.

Did you make that brush guard yourself?

I don't think it is home made. Looks like this one.... http://bumpersuperstore.com/i-115070...FVJhfgodHj0Jsg

I personally don't like it, looks over sized and doesn't fit the lines of the truck very well. Just my opinion. OP, glad you like it, it's your truck.

Same here, it doesn't fit the truck at all. But whatever, his truck, not ours.
