Default Pioneer Avic

I recently purchased a used Pioneer AVIC X940BT for $400 on Craigslist. The owner didn't care for the touchscreen functions being so touchy and inconsistent. I had an AVIC F900 in my Super Duty for nearly ten years with no trouble whatsoever so I wanted to stick with the brand. It held up through all sorts of in climate weather including sub zero cold.

Best Buy installed the X940 in my F150 for around $100 bucks which included the steering wheel adaptor and install kit. I am satisfied with the radio so far. Time will tell. The screen is touchy and sometimes hard to use. But for the cost I got a full blown Navigation system, all the bells and whistles. I think it does everything the other brands do. However, had I paid Pioneers list price, I'm not so sure I would be so happy. The older F series was a much better radio. I wish I would have kept it.

Look around a bit for used equipment. Be careful and save some money.

I recently installed a Kenwood DDX771 and am very happy with it. I wish the touch screens on my GPS and smartphone worked as well. The bluetooth also works great. It would be nice to have navigation but the additional cost was too much.

I've been interested in the touch screen Android powered units... anyone sporting one?

I put a vx3020 in mine. Paid $199.99 including shipping and dash kit and harness. Installed myself. Love it. Comes with USB port and aux hookup. I always use the Bluetooth.
