I have a full size aluminum toolbox in the bed of my truck as I'm sure many of you do. My question is, since I never keep the box packed full, I have trouble keeping things from banging and rolling around in there...Any ideas? Is there any aftermarket organizers or liners that I can put in there? I have heard of putting a piece of carpet in the bottom but is there anything a little more professional looking. If anyone has some pictures of how they have organized their toolbox then I would really like to see them. Thanks in advance for the help.

I got the same problem. I have a realy heavy toolbox inside my truck toolbox and push it up against everything else. It keeps it from bangin around but an organizer would be sweet

I know it may be alittle too late for this but I found toolboxes on autoanything.com that attach to the inside wall of the bed and swing out like a saloon door when you need to access them. They are a decent size, mine holds my ball hitch, couple mag light, scissor jack and a few hand tools and off road emergency kit. check them out

why not take some quick measurements or a template out of cardboard and build something out of osb/plywood? cheap and if you want it to look nicer get some of the really short carpet that is used on porches and stuff and wrap and staple it in there. Im going to be getting a tonneau cover and i plan on putting some OSB down in the bed and getting a sheet of that cheap carpeting from walmart that they sell in the rolls for when im hauling stuff to keep it from smacking the bed and damaging things like motor parts for the motor builds I do and the golf clubs on the weekends.

I just picked up a tool box last night. I was thinking about putting some milk crates in the bottom of the box.

my dad has his lined with what could be described as tupperware thats industrial strength. I think he got it at Home depot. Its jsut various sizes of these containers and it doesn't look bad. Plus there's so many that they don't move (he has a lot of crap in his box). Just an idea

I solved that problem with this, I have a liner on the bottom of mine for tools, It dosent work very well, I was gonna bolt angle iron to the bottom to keep things in place but havent gotten a chance yet, I have some pictures of What I did, and it works GREAT! these pictures are out of date but show my point, along with my nut drivers i also hand my hammer, a screw dirver and file up with clips i got at a local hardware store.





If you want any advice on doing any of this just let me know, I made it big so I can expand any time I want but you can make this small for what you need.

I never found a good organizer I could purchase, all the loose items in mine are either in tool boxes or divided into Tupperware containers by trade (drill bits, electrical, ...). Mine is always packed full and nothing moves around.

Ya mine gets pretty full with all my stuff, I love having the sockets in the top I can pull the one I need off or unscrew the ends and pull the whole block off i need, I also found a great organizer today, from home cheapo, Its a little carry case with 4 little organizers in it that you pull out from the top, works great, divided all my electrical connectors perfectly, and used my old stanley organizer for my bolts. but ya my electrical bag takes a lot of room and so does my dewalt drills and all my metric wrenches since I kept the original case for them/

i took some liner stuff thats made for a regular tool box such as for a craftsman. one side was sticky. i also took some 1x4's and made five different sections. see what you normally have in the tool box and get creative. cheap and easy
