No color difference my was only on about 6 months or so. No I peeled nice and slow and no problems with paint coming off. My wasn't from the factory i don't know if yours is or not if it is then ya those are alot harder to get off. I had one on my old truck from the factory and it's alot more heavy duty.

I don't think it's from factory. The used dealership we bought it from put it on when they purchased it. Not sure how to tell the difference between factory and one that'll come off easily.

The factory one is thick you can clearly tell the difference. The one I had was like a thin sticker

Oh okay. Mine seems much thicker then just a sticker. I want to remove it, but I don't think it would be the easiest. Plus it's been on for a little over 2 years.

When I debadged my silverado, I found the best way was to heat up the strip, then take some fishing line and tie it to 2 wrenches or screwdrivers or something, and get the line behind the strip and do a sawing motion. This will get you cut through to the end. Then, I heated up the remaining tape and used old credit cards (or plastic razors) to take it off. To get the remaining residue off, I used 3M Adhesive remover.

My badges/stickers were on since the truck was built (2003, I did this in 2011) and had no paint come off. After, I had to use some polishing compound to get the outlines gone.

Another method is to do the same fishing line trick, but then use a 3M Eraser Wheel. This wheel goes on a drill and takes of tape really well:
