Question Took Cats Out, Check Engine Light

Hello everyone, My name is Casey and I am from Louisiana. I have a 2004 F150, 5.4L and I took the cats out of my truck.... do i regret it....yesss I knew the check engine light would definately come on because of the O2 sensors on the back 2 cats out of the 4 total I took off. I was wondering if there is a way to turn that off? The shop who did it, plugged this computer under my stearing column and it turned off for a while, but it came back on. Is there a way to get it off for good or any options? I tried to just ignore it() but that didnt work. Im currently covering it up with a piece of electrical tape (rigged) because it is always there in my face, any tips or info would be appreciated.

Thank you.

-Casey

Front 02 sensors=Critical to have installed

Rear 02 sensors they are people making 02 simulators. This can be done at home with a lot of research and a good understanding of electricity and more specifically the F-150s engines electrical system. The easy way is to search for a company that sells 02 simulators for our trucks or find a company that will develop them.

i'm not sure if a tune can shut off the light or not, you could just leave it and take apart the cluster and put a tiny piece of tape over the back of the applique and block the light off. also i bet you will lose mpg due to the CEL

yeah, im askin around trying to gather some input. I mean the cats are all off and obviously the emissions or O2 sensor is detecting that so the light is on on the dash. I just wanna turn that light off cuz the tape wont hide it forever ya know. Someone will see it eventually and ask about it or if I ever trade it in or sell it, that will raise eyebrows. Not to mention the noise already causes suspicion...

they will never know if the CEL is taped over, but if something ever really is wrong you won't know and could put you in a bad spot. put it back to stock or put in high flow cats and you should be good.

go with what rollingthunder said. theres o2 simulators out there that take the place of your o2 sensor and will keep the light off!

I did the same thing with my truck. I cut the back 2 cats off and my truck was throwing codes. The sct SF3 programmer lets you turn the rear 2 O2 sensors off. It will make them stay off and you will have more power.
