Default today is a sad day...

I, like many of you use my truck for work and play. well today MISS GEORGIA begins her week or so wait at the transmission shop...... after 147k of well maintained BUT still very much "used as a truck" life her transmission decided to "take a knee"... this is a very up and down day for me. after saving $3k for my new lift I now have to use alot of that to get my transmission rebuilt..... ****!!! well if youre gonna rebuild might as well do it right. MONSTER rebuild kit and torque converter ordered and on its way to the shop.

Well look at the bright side, the money you have been saving saved you. Had you lifted it then had the trans go out, you would have been pissed, not grateful, lol

No doubt! I remember when mine went out, I almost shxx my pants. And I sure didn't want to spend my 2k rebuilding it. But it's worth it. And having that piece of mind is priceless. Hang in there.

Dawg,
Had you ever changed the filter and fluid in the trans?
Just curious as many still prefer not to do so.
If so, at what mileage?
Thanks

147k is possible. Now if it ****s the bed at 41k, that makes you mad. Dont ask me how I know.

I feel your pain. I just got mine back from the transmission shop on Friday. $2500 later and she's running great.

I'm worried about mine. Never had a problem with it. 145k now. But I'm gonna be towing a 23' boat about 800 miles this weekend.

Are the tranny's in these trucks that bad? I know a few guys with the 04-08 and they haven't had issues, but there seems to be a lot of issues that crop up on the forums.
