Does anyone have any experience with the "TOAD" diagnostic tool?
I heard it mentioned a few times but wondered if it was just a marketing gimmick

Was looking to get a nice diagnostic scanner and had a couple of people mention it.
I have edge on my Truck and run HPTuners to tune my cars, but need a reliable diagnostic tool..

I have no experience with that. I do have the Torque pro app with a bluetooth reader, and like it very much. It's done everything I've needed it to do, on multiple vehicles. Under $30, just couldn't go wrong.
Seems like you are looking to go a little further into your computer, so maybe someone wit some TOAD experience will chime in.
