Default Tires and Rims

I have a 06 FX4 with a 2 1/2" leveling kit and im looking to buy some rims and tires. Ive read the Tire and wheel fitment guide but im a little confused, the rims I picked out were Moto metal MO909 skull rim 17"X9" with a -12 offset with a 33/12.5/17 or a 305/70/17 tire. When I went to buy them from a local tire and rim store they said they would not work on my truck unless I went with alot smaller tire, I was wondering if I could run this setup without it scrubbing or is the shop right and I need to find a different setup?

I went through the same problem with my moto metals. Had to go with the +30mm offset. Ive seen people on here with the -12 but they stick out very far and require trimming. From what i understand, we cant get real deep dish wheels without lifting the truck. Oh well. The wheels still look bada** in my opinion.

The shop is correct...you need more offset.

I have pretty much the same question.
If Bobby goes for a 17x9 wheel with +30 offset with a tire around 12.5", will the tires stick out a little bit from the fender or not at all?

I have the same offset on my 18x9 but my tires are only 11.5 and they are pretty much alligned with the fenders. Maybe they are tucked in just a tad but its a hard to tell

Bobby, these are 17x9 with 5 inches of BS 0 degree offset. Tires are 295x70x17 Toyo's 33.5x12x17. I have no rubbing at all with this set up on a leveled 4x4. Truck pull's harder then when I had 35's on it too!
