I recently purchased some XTX's from Les Schwab Tires. They seem to be great compared to the cheap factory tires that came with the truck. I went one size larger. Before I had some BF Goodrich Duelers on a Land Rover and the XTX's are every bit as good as those. Also in Oregon, where I live, they count as traction tires, so I don't have to chain up until DOT makes "everyone" chain up when it snows.

Without knowing if its 2 or 4wd here are my reccomendations. Michelin LTX if its 2wd. BFG all terrain KOs if its 4wd. I have owned both and been very happy with both.

1 size might throw it off 2 MPH Not enough to really worry about.

My vote is for BFGoodrich (not the factory model ones) or Goodyears, but most don't seem to like Goodyears

My experience is I've had Goodyear AT/s tires on my 02. They were great in the snow but not as good in the rain for some reason. I could break traction in the rear on wet roads a Little easy. Maybe it was from the tuner Great mileage too. I had 56K on the ODO when I traded it in and still had lots of tread left.

I had a set of Michelin LTX M/S on my 4runner. The only thing I liked about these tires is the mileage I got out of them. I had 75K on them and they still had about half the tread left but they sucked in anything but dry roads. No traction in the snow and they were not that great on wet pavement either.

My brother's truck has it's second set of BFG's All-Terrain T/A ko tires on it now and they are a great all around tire. He got about 40K out of the first set.

I will NEVER buy anything made by Firestone/Bridgestone EVER!!!

When it comes to car tires I buy nothing less than Michelin's. IMO that's what they make best. Both of my Bonnie's a set have a set of them

Found a great tire calculator that let's you compare current to new tires and speedometer changes:

I would go with the BFG's. They are a great all around tire. I like the stiff sidewall. Seems to give better gas milage and road performance.
