Default Tires for Minnesota

Hello All,

First time poster! Long time reader.

Looking for some new tires for my 06 XLT 4x4 SuperCrew. Currently running 265/70/17 Michelin LTX A/T 2. I did like them, came with the truck when I bought it used.

Driving breakdown:
Mostly highway
Pull a boat several times a year
Go out on the ice for fishing as much as I can.
Often on the way to work before roads are plowed in my part of town.

I don't want to get two sets of tires. Next truck I will likely do that.

I have shopped around and there are so many options. I think I have it narrowed to the following:

Michelin LTX M/S2
BFG All-Terrain T/A KO2
Firestone Destination LE2
Firestone Destination A/T
Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo

What would be a better tire than I was driving? I did like that one. Started to struggle in snow at about 45k miles.

Feel free to through out other options as well. Trying to keep right at or below $1k.

Thank you for all your feed back in advance!

I have the BFG K02 and love them!

I believe those are the best all around tire.

I have the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's on my truck and I'm not impressed with them...especially in the snow

Thank you for the advice so far. How are the BFG's wearing? How many miles are you getting if you aren't a truck street racer

Cooper AT/3 or go home. I am in love with them. I do a little bit of everything and surprised at how confident I am in the snow and rain, even when hauling or towing. Had them on my 2011 and same thing there. In the 2011 I drove across the state of Wisconsin in a snow storm towing a Jeep. Heavy wet snow some spots slick, was really stable.

Never owned a set of BFGs I liked.

I had some general grabbers on the jeep that were nice as well.

Thanks for the Cooper addition. Had not looked into those. How many miles are you getting on them?

Get a set of Goodyear Duratrac's. You will have to spend a few extra dollars but you will absolutely love them and never regret it. I run them on my truck and have no issues traversing the nasty hills of Duluth in the winter. Best performing rubber I have ever had. Never heard any poor reviews of them. You'll have no problem getting 50,000+ miles out of them. I have no trouble getting across the lakes in the winter to my ice house in 2 wheel drive, though with 4x4 they are unstoppable!

What load rating do most of you get? Not a work truck. Pull a boat on occasion haul a load of gravel or rock for landscaping.
