So just to clarify on my 06 XLT 4x4 I should be able to run a 20x9 xd spy with 35x12.50 tire with a level kit and the wheel has 4.5 to 5.5 backspace?

If you have the 2.5 inch leveling kit and the wheels are a +18 and over offset you should be fine.

I have started a couple threads on this, but there seems to be some well informed answers here. Tell me please which wheel I can run on my '07 with a 2.5" level and not run into rubbing issues, I dont want to trim. Or your opinion on all the wheels mentioned. All my wheel choices are 18x9.

Tire: Trail Grappler 295's
Wheels:
Fuel Revolver, -12 offset 4.5" backspace

Fuel Boost, +1 offset 5" backspace or +14 offset 5.5" backspace

Other 3 choice wheels (XD Misfit, XD Enduro and PC 7032) are all 0 offset and 5" backspace

Thanks for any info you have. I have been racking my brain on this for days!

The fuel revolvers will definitely rub. The fuel boost with +14 offset will be the safest bet but I think the other wheels may work as well. Even if you do have to trim a little bit of plastic no one will be able to tell without putting their head in the wheel well. Of course it's your truck and I'm just giving my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback. What tire/wheels are you running? Size and specs....

Ive seen people saying trimming will be needed - it even says this on Fabtech's website for their reccomended tire size for a 6" lift on a 2wd F150. Can you specify what you mean by trimming?

I am running 315/70/17 MT tire on a 17x9 wheel with 4.5" backspacing and -12mm offset. I learned the hard way of what would not fit. I had to trim the plastic on my wheel well and an inch of metal off behind that. It was all worth it though I love my setup and get compliments on it all the time!

On the lowest part of the wheel well towards the cab the tire will often hit the plastic of the well. I used a Dremel tool to trim the plastic. It won't hurt anything to cut the plastic and you won't be able to see it unless you stick your head in the wheel well or are really looking at it.

Wow, thats a big tire. How far out do your wheels come past the fender? I was told at my tire shop that the -12 offset will stick out to far and look funny... Still thinking about changing my order with the 285's to 295's....

Yeah I asked the wheel shop I bought the wheels from how far they would stick out and they said 4 inches.... It's more like 2.5ish and looks good to me. I will say it sucks driving down gravel because my tires throw rocks everywhere so I had to buy some fender flares to solve that problem. What is the second number on the tires as that plays into how big it is? For example a 285/70/18 is 34x11.22 and a 295/65/18 is a 33x11.61 Just because the first number is bigger does not yield a bigger tire.
