Hey guys im new to this forum and i have an 2004 f150 lariat screw 4x4. Ive been looking at some aftermarket wheels and tires and this is what im looking to buy. Moto Metal m0909 skull wheels 17x9, 6x135 OS: -12mm BS: 4.53" wrapped in Nitto Mud Grapplers 33x12.50R17. My question for yall is will this combo fit? I am also planning on putting the Rancho Quick Lift Front and rear that are adjustable to 2.5" lift. I want to make sure before i sink dang near $3 grand into these items. Thanks

added 2 100w KC daylighters, removed the plasti dip from my wheels and removed the door molding but I still haven't gotten all of the 3m tape off so I'm going to detail the truck sometime this week. up to come I'm going to paint my wheels gloss black, 1.5"-2" wheel spacers, an exhaust, and back bumper painted black

On a stock truck without leveling kit you can run 33X12.5" tires if it is a 4WD and 31X12.5" tires if it is a 2WD, using stock wheels.

On a leveled truck(2" kit and larger) you can run 35X12.5" tires on a 4WD and 33X12.5" tires on a 2WD truck, using the stock wheels.

Using aftermarket wheels you can run 35s on a 4WD if the wheels follow these guidelines:
-For an 8" wide wheel the backspacing is 5.5 inches.
-For and 8.5" wide wheel the backspacing needed is 5-6 inches.
-For an 9" wide wheel the backspacing is 4.5-5.5 inches.

If the wheel specs are not listed about you will more than likely have to run 33s or even smaller to avoid too much rubber and trimming. These specs are the basics for tires fitting well but you could run 35s if the specs are very similar but you will face bad rubbing.

For a 2WD truck and after market wheels you can run 33s with wheels that fit withen these specs.
-For an 8" wide wheel the backspacing is 5.5 inches.
-For and 8.5" wide wheel the backspacing needed is 5-6 inches
-For an 9" wide wheel the backspacing is 4.5-5.5 inches.

If the wheel specs are not listed about you will more than likely have to run 31s or even smaller to avoid too much rubber and trimming. These specs are the basics for tires fitting well but you could run 33s if the specs are very similar but you will face bad rubbing.

Remember that these are the basics to running aftermarket wheels and tires, certain tires might not rub but others might because of aggresive sidewalls.

These specs should work for most people and instances but if you are worried about fitment get the tire shop to mount the tire on the wheel and put it on the truck then turn the wheel to full lock in both directions to see and possible problems. If the tires you plan on running aren't 12.5 inches wide you still might be able to run 35s because of that reason, for a 4WD and some aftermarket wheels or 33s for a 2WD. It's best if you can find wheels that are a happy medium between the two backspaces for the 8.5" and 9" wheels because you will face more rubbing if you go for 6" of backspacing on a 8.5" wheel instead of 5.5 inches that's right in the middle.

For those who are curious. The stock wheels(17 and 18") are 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of backspacing. The bolt pattern is 6X135mm.

Big thanks to PawPaw on this one.

If you have any instances where you find that these specs haven't worked for you please let me know and I'll make the appropriate changes, please PM so I will see it.

Hope this helps.
So I can put 285-55-20'S on my stock FX2? WITH OUT ANY RUBBING ISSUES.... AND 31's are the biggest? I have 2007 fx2

Default 2004 tire upgrade

Ok have read most of these posts and still not sure. I have an 04 fx4 with stock 275/65/18 and need tires. I am looking to level the front with 2.5". I know it says you can fit 35's but would that be a 295/75/18. or can anyone give me some advice. Also do i need to lift the rear at all? Thank you in advance.

Default I have Boss 315 Wheels 20 x 8.5 Would 35 x 12.5 toyos fit with a leveling kit?

Hello,
I've reading the forums for a few weeks but just finally joined so I could ask this question.
I have these wheels http://www.wheelsnext.com/wheels-rim...15-chrome.html

I don't know what the back spacing is on them but it says 40 offset.
Would 35" tires work on my truck with a leveling kit?

My truck is a 04 Screw 4x4.

Thanks!

I'm going to guess that you cannot clear 35s with 20 inch rims. But maybe someone who knows for sure can chime in

The rim size doesn't have anything to do with it. A 35" tire is 35" no matter what size of wheel it's mounted on.

I wanted to see what people have on their trucks and if any knows what will fit.

I have a 2006 Lariat with a 2" leveling kit. and stock 20" wheels 8.5"w I believe. Stock tire is a 275/55/20

I want the largest tire I can fit with out a lift kit and rubbing.

I want the Nitto Terra Grappler
my options are...

285/50R20 116S
LT285/55R20 E122R
LT295/60R20 E126Q
LT305/55R20 E121S

I've done all the conversions and I'm starting to get confused.
