bear with me here i know im a littler slow (ive dropped myself on my head too many times) so if i put xd778 with a 5.71 back spacing and a 18 off set wrapped in kumho kl71 35x12.5 on a 05 fx4 Scew with a 2.5in hbs leveling kit.

A) how far would the wheel stick out past the fender (1"?)
B) will they rub or just not look right? see im trying to decide if i should go with 33" or 35" tires i would really like to make th emost educated dicision i can.

Just chugged through all 21 pages of this post and didn't find the answer to my question. My '06 Lariat has the stock 20" wheels (pictured below). How wide is this wheel and what is the offset?

If I am not mistaken all factory wheels (17, 18 and 20) are 7" wide and have 0 off set.

I am really confused here. I have read all of the pages in this post over and over agian. I have an 08 SCREW 4WD with stock wheels and tires. I installed a 3" spacer in the front and I have been looking for tires for months. I had decided on 285 65 20's which I saw a picture of another poster that had the same set up. Now I have found 275 65 20's which are around half an inch shorter and slightly narrower for $500 less than the 285's. Is there anyone else out there that runs a set up like this? Can I go larger than the 285 65 20's on a factory 20? I dont want to get new wheels. And I dont want to spend $1600 on a set of tires. I really like the Cooper MT's now and I found a set for around $1400.

Thanks

Negative, 17 and 18s are 7.5" wide with +32 offset, 20s are 8.5" wide with +44 offset IIRC.

Well first off I'm new to this forum...IT'S AWESOME I"VE BEEN A FORD GUY MY WHOLE LIFE I LOVE YOU GUYS... BIG BAD *** TRUCKS..You're pictures are awesome. So soon as I joined and started reading these post on how easy it is to do a leveling kit... 33" or 35" I started thinking... lets do it.. So after reading all of these post in this sticky and my wife in my ear complaint on the cost.. I'M DOING IT! just one problem guys...I'm over whelmed by all the sizes and knowledge.

Here is what I have and want

Have: 2005 SCREW Lariet with Factory 18s
Want: Goodyear MTR's or Goodyear Duratrac's on my factory 18
2.5" or 3" leveling kit Hell Bent Steel POWDERCOATED

I'M going goodyear because Its AMERICAN and up the road from me in Akron Plus my Msgt in the gaurd get a great employer discout.

SO can I run a 285/75/18 with a 2.5" leveling kit and on factory 18" rims? This comes out to be 35.1" high and 11.2 wide on a MTR....$267 a tire what a deal!

Can you all post a pic of factory 18" with 33" or 35" tires.

Goodyear MTR only has 3 sizes in 18"
275/65/18 32.2" 11.0
275/70/18 33.4" 11.0
285/75/18 35.1" 11.3
Goodyear Duratrac has 4 sizes in 18"
275/65/18 32.1" 11.0
275/70/18 33.4" 11.0
295/65/18 33.1" 11.8
325/65/18 34.6" 13.0

from what i got out of this sticky in earlier postings the 7.5" factory rim is to narrow for a 325/65/18..is this a fact?

Would I need a 3" kit for a 285/75/18?
Do 33 look better or 35..I have 1 chance at this guys and need to know by tommorw so i can get the tires ordered by Mem day or bye bye sale.

THANKS GUYS any info is greatly appriciated!

Hey guys, hope you're all doing well. I recently purchased new tires and wheels for my 04 FX4. Maybe this will help some of you when deciding whether or not to go to 35's.

Tires: 35x12.50x18 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T's.
Wheels: 18x9, 5in. BS, 0mm XD Rockstars.
Level: 2.5" Hell Bent Steel.

Due to my aftermarket bumper I did not have to worry about the tires rubbing up front. The only place they rubbed was at the rear of the wheel well on the plastic guard and the metal corner of the fender, where the flare ends. The following pictures show how much (at the very least) you need to trim in order to avoid all rubbing with 35" tires. I did cut into the metal of the fender with a reciprocating saw.

It's still a tight squeeze when the rear of the tire is passing the corner of fender (end of flare), but I tested it on a curb and it doesn't rub.
