I've been looking into wheels and I want to go with 17x10 with 33x12.5 with my 2 1/2 leveling kit. But I was looking at 35s also and they just look goofy 33s are perfect I actually found a picture of someones f150 with 33x12.5 on a 2 1/2 inch leveling kit and it looks great! But they will rub for sure!

Default question because I cant afford to do it twice

I have an 07 4x4, and if Im reading the sticky right a 17x9 rim with 5" of backspacing and 35's should clear without rubbing so long as i do a 2" leveling kit, right?

to be more specific:

Default Backspacing conversion to Offset to determine correct wheel size

Brand new to the forum and yes I searched first & read this thread and the one about leveling and have decided to go with the Bilstein 2.25” level kit. Now I've seen a lot of 2wd trucks here that have used 22 x 9.5" wheels but I haven't seen any that mention what the back spacing is. Once in while they may mention offset. And NON of them had fender flares which may allow for a wider tire and may or may not create an additional rubbing problem.

This article says that stock 17" and 18" wheels are 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of backspacing. Now when you go to buy after market wheels everyone rates them with Offset NOT backspacing. So I went to a online conversion chart and it says there that a 9.5” wide wheel with backspacing of 5.5" is 6.00 offset. Is that right?

The reason I'm asking this is I want to keep the offset as close to stock as possible to keep from unnecessary wear on the ball joints.

Also, my truck has fender flares (see attached pic). So does that allow me to go with a wider/bigger wheel & tire and still keep the outside edge of the tire within the flare and also not rub anywhere? It's a little confusing to get all these numbers right as I've seen many others have the same problem figuring out.

Default Offset question

Now.. I am running this offset however and the tire you are wanting to run may rub a little bit. My tires are 11.7" wide and they rub this:

So yours would hit this with about a half inch more rubber.

To answer your other question your tires will stick out about 2-2.5" past the fender. Heres pics for a visual:

I know this is a old post so I'm hoping you're still on here. I just ordered pretty much exactly what you're running I beleive. The xd monsters 18x9 -12 offset and 295/70/18 cooper stt pros. I have a 2 1/2 inch level but after seeing yours I'm wondering if I should change it to the +18 offset . Do you think that would be a better option. Thanks in advance
