Default Tire sizes

I know there has probably been a lot of questions concerning tire sizes, but I have been searching through the posts and have read a lot of different opinions and thoughts. If you could help me out with my choice for tires it would be much appreciated.

My Truck:
2005 F150 Fx4 Crew - 2.5" level - Stock tire/wheels 275/65R18

I want to keep my stock wheels but would like to run a 33's, 34's, maybe 35's, but 34ish would be ideal. I have looked at the Nitto Terra Grappler and a few others. I don't want to spend an outrageous amount of money, but I do wanna get a decent set. With a good tread life and good in wet and dry conditions that are not extremely loud but still have the off-road look.

What tires would you suggest, and what size would fit or look the best. If anyone has pictures of the different tires or sizes that would be most helpful.

Thanks.

Although the "search" feature is very helpful, even thats not needed here. The very first two posts in this section (highlighted, have stickies on them) Have all your answers and hundreds of pictures to look through. Several different tire/wheel combo's including stock and aftermarket with different stages of level and lift pictures.

I would check out www.tirerack .com because you can see all the tires, the tread and get some pretty good reviews. You do not necessarily need to or have to buy from their. THey hust have a great site for comparing tires and getting a feel for what you want. If you are looking for a 34", there is the 305/65/18 at 33.7" and a 325/65/18 at 34.7". Many different brand options. GOod luck with your search. Also, I must add, I love my stock wheels for the first time in my vehicle buying lifetime. It makes it hard to part with them They just look right. I have the factory 20" and am also looking at a 33"-35" tire but I just have not made a decision.

Thanks Brandon, I hope you find some tires as well for your stockers. I like the stock wheels I have a lot so I definitely wanna find a good tire to fit them. You mentioned 305/65/18 at 33.7" and a 325/65/18 at 34.7" which of these is a wider tire? I want a nice tall 33/34 but I also want a nice wide meaty tire so it doesnt just look tall and skinny.

I'd go with the 305x65x18 BFG AT. The 325x65x18 is too wide and will give you rubbing problem's. I ran 35 inch tires for a few year's and went down to a 34" and find they fit better with no rubbing. The BFG 305's ain't cheap but will last 60 to 70k miles easy if taken care of. Just my 2 cent's!

Would this tire 325/65R18 fit on a stock 18" with 2.5 level kit?

The 325/65 is a wider tire. The 325 is the width of the tire in millimeters and the 65 is the percentage of the width that is put in to the sidewall. That is why the 325 is 1 in taller than the 305. It may be safest to go with the 305, just depends on how much work you put in to the truck or on the truck.
