Question Tire size + fitting help!

okay I bought rims from ebay

6x135

Width: 8.5
Offset: 25

20 inches...

Now I need tires.

I want to get the following:

305/50 R20
or
305/55 R20

Which do you all recommend? will the 305/55 even work or will they be to big

I want the biggest tires that will fit. and not hit or rub nothing and will be safe driving, I do not go 4x4'in that much to none.

I did the math and the 305/50 is pretty much the same size as my truck is now with the tires and the 17 inch stock rims,

i have a 06 ford f-150 xlt triton 4x4

please give me feedback! thank you!!

The 305/55's will fit with no issues. Make sure to have your speedo recalibrated and post up some pics afterwards.

Yes I do mean to have your speedometer recalibrated. When I had my truck lifted and the larger tires put on my dealership was going to recalibrate my speedo and adjust my shift points for $80 total.

As far as will the tires fit the wheel, yes they will. It's recommended with that size tire you go with a 9" wide wheel. Check with your local shops about whether they will install a 12" wide tire on an 8.5" wheel because some shops will and some shops won't. I have heard of many F150 owners adding 12" and wider tires on the stock wheels.

I don't think you'll need a leveling kit with either tire. The 50's are a 32" tire, not much bigger than stock and the 55's are a 33" tire. I stock 4WD will fit 33's. Although a leveling kit makes the truck look better IMO.

could I just go with a 285/55 or 285/60 just to be safe or it wouldnt matter? this would make the tires width shorter right? would they be the way to go or should i stay with the 305/55 please let me know and help me pick a tire!!! thanks
